Christina Kortum has been working in the independent film industry in Portland, OR for several years as both a beauty and makeup effects artist, specializing in prosthetics that hold up under the scrutiny of HD. As her skills grew and the requests for characters became more elaborate, it became apparent that there was a need for a local facility able to do larger scale work.
Ravenous Studios has officially opened it's doors in NE Portland. Christina has been pulling together talent and equipment to create a shop that could make the dreams and monsters of local filmmakers come to life. By providing SFX makeup and prosthetics, beauty makeup, prop creation, animatronics, digital FX, and art department services Christina has brought together a variety of talented artists from different specialties.
The fall of 2009 brought along a partnering of Ravenous Studios with Seattle based, Emmy award winning makeup artist Brian Sipe and his Gamut Studios. "Brian has spent the last 22 years professionally working in Los Angeles. His skills and experience has raised the bar in the Northwest to new heights, and with our combined studio locations, between Portland and Seattle, we offer Hollywood quality and experience for filmmakers who want to crew their projects with local talent. There is no need to search outside the Pacific Northwest."
